Although every year brings its blessings and challenges, many wisdom traditions are heralding 2026 as a definitive step across an optimistic new threshold. Below you’ll find some of the highlights for the year ahead.

In numerology, 2025 was a Universal Year 9 which brought completion, culmination, and closure. As a Universal Year 1, 2026 initiates a whole new nine-year cycle, indicating new beginnings and fresh starts. And while 2025 was also a deeply reflective Hermit Year, 2026 signals a Wheel of Fortune Year, auguring a turn of the tide and a time to embrace change, evolution, and movement.

The outer planets in Fire and Air signs will form some unusually auspicious planetary engagement in 2026 – namely a series of trines and sextiles between Pluto, Neptune, Uranus and Saturn.

We are moving away from the helplessness and grief that has infused the collective over the last few years to a visionary new epoch of spirited motivation, dynamic curiosity, productivity, and forward motion.

On January 26th, for the first time in 150 years, Neptune will move into Aries, where it will stay until 2039. Since 2011, Neptune in Pisces has been a nebulous, night sea journey that brought us some shadowy manifestations of its archetype.

Not only has mysticism become material with an explosion of all things “spiritual” through a glamorized distorted lens, a more insidious aspect of Neptune in Pisces arose with the opioid crisis.

Although Neptune in Pisces has also brought its gifts (imagination, compassion, spiritual growth) it also blanketed the collective in a Neptunian fog tinted with misinformation in a post truth world where reality itself has become ambiguous.

Neptune’s 14 year stay in Aries will bring increased clarity, cutting through the mist with fresh inspiration and decisive self-assurance. Saturn joins Neptune in Aries on February 13th through April 2028, calling us to examine what sovereignty really means beyond the buzzword it’s become. Although Saturn is in its fall in Aries, it will bring structured action as well as patience that can help us cut the distractions and commit to a game plan.

Saturn and Neptune will conjoin on February 20th (which happens only every 30 years) moving us toward self-actualization and supporting us to turn our dreams into tangible reality. Saturn and Neptune in the first sign of the zodiac signal that the past is now firmly behind us.
